Twirl Productions Unlimited Fall Classic Twirling Contest offers a great opportunity to twirlers of all ages in both competitive and non-competitive events. Check out the unique categories below.
Description of Competitive Solo Categories:

Non-Competitive (Divisional) Categories:
Instructors may enter their school line or ensemble and soloists may enter solos for a divisional rating on the day of the contest. This will offer critiques for twirling lines and soloists in a UIL format without the pressure of competing. Any ensemble or school line that receives a 1st division rating will be awarded.
FLASH PASS: Divisional entries that pre-register and pay by the deadline (Sept. 27, 2019) will receive a FLASH PASS. The flash pass will reserve your performance time prior to those registering after the deadline or the day of the event.
Description of Competitive Solo Categories:
- UIL Solo: This category will be divided into 4 age groups, including 9th grade, 10th grade, 11th grade and 12th grade. High school twirlers may compete with their UIL solo as well as receive critiques prior to UIL regionals. This category will include all solos regardless of style or number of batons used during the performance. The top 6 places will be awarded for each age group.
- Lanes: This category consists of 3 options, 1 baton twirl, 2 baton twirl and 3 baton twirl and is open to age groups PreK-12th Grades. Music will be provided by Twirl Productions and will be 125-135 beats per minute. Suggested length of routines for this category is 30 seconds - 2 minutes. The top 6 places will be awarded.
- 1 Baton Twirl - choreography should include 1 baton from the beginning to the end of the solo
- 2 Baton Twirl - choreography should include 2 batons from the beginning to the end of the solo
- 3 Baton Twirl - choreography should include 3 batons from the beginning to the end of the solo
- Fundamental Lanes: This is category is open to all age groups, PreK-12th Grades. Twirlers may enter any of the 9 levels of fundamentals and compete for the top 6 places in their age group for each level. Fundamentals should be memorized by the twirler and performed to music provided by TPU. This will be set up in the exact same way as all other Lane categories. The twirler will show her name card, salute and begin fundamentals. Music will be provided by TPU. A list of fundamental levels is available below.
Description of Competitive Ensemble or School Line Categories:
- UIL Ensemble: 3 or more members; designed to offer critiques for UIL routines prior to UIL regionals. This is a competitive category and the top 6 places will be awarded. All entries will be given a rating on their routines similar to the ratings given at UIL. Any ensemble that receives a 1st division rating will be awarded.
- Field Routine: 2 or more members; Band music only! This may be a recording of your school band playing or you may use an arrangement, for example an arrangement from JW Pepper by Matt Conaway or Ishbah Cox would be acceptable. This category is designed for school lines to compete with a field routine. The top 6 places will be awarded.
- Show Routine: 2 or more members; Canned music only! This category is for routines that include a prop (novelty), pep rally routine to a pop tune, blackout routine, etc. The top 6 places will be awarded.
