DANCE TWIRL TEAM CATEGORIES
A Dance Twirl Team consists of four or more members whose performance is accompanied by music of their preference. Choreography should include continuous dance movements while twirling and be coordinated with the music. The routine must have combinations of foot work and body work with the baton. Creativity, musicality, and quality of movement are key components along with baton skills.
1 Baton Dance Twirl
A dance twirl team performing with one baton per member throughout the entire routine.
2 Baton Dance Twirl
A dance twirl team performing with two batons during all or any portion of the routine. This routine does not require two batons per member throughout the entire routine. It may consist of both one baton and two baton sections throughout the routine.
Multi-Baton Dance Twirl
A dance twirl team performing with three or more batons during the routine. This routine does not require three or more batons per member throughout the entire routine. It may consist of a varying number of batons per member with three or more batons being used during any portion of the routine.

NOVELTY SHOW TWIRL TEAM CATEGORY
A Novelty Show Twirl Team consists of four or more members whose performance is accompanied by music of their preference and the integration of a prop. This performance must include at least one baton per member but may include multiple batons during any portion of the routine. The routine must include a prop in order to qualify for this category. A prop is anything used during a performance that is not considered to be twirling equipment. Example of props: box, chair, hat, boa, cane, umbrella, etc.
A Novelty Show Twirl Team consists of four or more members whose performance is accompanied by music of their preference and the integration of a prop. This performance must include at least one baton per member but may include multiple batons during any portion of the routine. The routine must include a prop in order to qualify for this category. SMALL ENSEMBLE
A Small Ensemble consists of either two or three contestants, performing at the same time. Small Ensemble entries should follow the same category guidelines as solo entries.
DUET: Two contestants performing at one time.
TRIO: Three contestants performing at one time.
